Label Construction

A typical label consists of 3 components. 

A face material is supported by the liner with special adhesive in the middle

1. Face Material

A white, surface-sized, supercalendered woodfree printing paper.

2. Adhesive

The adhesive is characterized by a good initial tack and good adhesion on a wide variety of substrates. S9500 is an acrylic based permanent biodegradable and compostable adhesive.

3. Release Liner / Backing

The liner is made from FSC® certified paper (FSC Mix Credit, chain-of-custody number: CU-COC-807907, Licence Code: C004451).

Key features

>The FSC certified vellum facestock has been tested according to European Standard EN13432.

> The compostable adhesive S9500 carries the "OK Compost" certificate according to EN13432 regulations.

> Direct food contact approval for dry, non fatty foods

Special Approvals

S9500 is compliant with the European food regulation 1935/2004/EC for direct food contact with dry, non-fatty foodstuff. S9500 complies with DIN EN 13432 biodegradability and compostability regulation and is OK compost certified under the tracking number S259.

Uses & Application

BIO is ideal to be used for all kinds of applications, but is specifically suited for those kinds of applications where the complete packaging should be biodegradable and where indirect or direct food contact with dry foodstuff is required (i.e. fruits & vegetables labelling).

Shelf Life

2 years, under storage conditions as defined by FINAT (20ºC, 50% RH)
