We have several downloadable templates available to all of our customers. These templates can be used at home or in the office on the plain sheet labels, or they can be used to create full sheet templates for our team to print.
One of the template formats available for editing is PDF, but how can these be used?
The PDF templates have been set up for customers with design programmes such as Adobe Illustrator. PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is one of the most common file types used in the print industry. Many design programmes have the capability of extracting and editing PDFs with a few simple clicks.
If you have design software with PDF editing capabilities, download the file from our website. Right-click on the file and select the 'Open with...' option. Select your design software from the programmes listed.
By using a direct selection tool in programmes such as Adobe Illustrator, which handles vectorised artwork, you should be able to remove the cut lines and insert your own graphics. For programmes that are more raster/pixel-based, such as Adobe Photoshop, lock the template layer and start adding your designs to a new layer, with the template as a guide.
Before printing, please make sure the template guides are removed or hidden as these will not automatically disappear when the file is sent to print.
